Alfonso Maria Di Nola (Naples, January 9, 1926 – Rome, February 17, 1997) was an Italian anthopologist, historian of religions and essayst.
After the war he became became professor in various universities as Siena's, Rome's and Naples' and wrote prominent studies on New Testament apocrypha, Jewish mysticism and Italian folklore.

He also wrote studies about the figure of the Devil in religious and popular culture. One of his last works was a monumental study on the anthropology of Death. (La Nera Signora. Antropologia della morte e del lutto; 1995)
