Beth MacDonald is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a BA in Political Science and Economics. From 1986 until 1998 she worked as a professional in the craft industry, designing knitted items and projects for children to make. Published by Hot Off the Press, Leisure Arts, and American School of Needlework, Beth wrote (or co-wrote) thirteen softcover instruction books. Her designs were featured in national magazines, craft stores, industry trade shows, and on cable TV throughout the 1980s and 90s.
In summer and autumn, Beth and her husband, Mike, live in a 1930s co-op in Minneapolis, MN, and spend weekends at their lake cabin in SD. January through May they reside in a quirky vintage cottage in Beaufort, SC.
