Konstantin Ivanovich Zarodov. Soviet politician, journalist and historian; Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor.
K. Zarodov was a member of the Great Patriotic War, in 1939-1946 he served in the Navy: in 1939 - a sailor, since 1941 - a marine, a Komsomol organizer of the 12th Marine Brigade. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1940. In 1941-1944, Zarodov defended the Arctic , was a participant in the landing operations of the Northern Fleet , in particular, as a Komsomol organizer of the landing detachment during the landing on Cape Pikshuev in 1942.
From 1946 he was in the Komsomol and journalistic work. He graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) (in absentia) in 1951 and the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1954. In 1956-1961 he worked in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU.
In 1961-1965 he was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Sovetskaya Rossiya , in 1965-1968 he was the first deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper Pravda , in 1968-1982 he was the chief editor of the journal Problems of Peace and Socialism . A candidate member of the Central Committee in 1966-1982.
