Gary Sinise is an American actor whose career has spanned stage, film, and television, alongside a long record of humanitarian work. He emerged from the Chicago theatre scene as a co-founder of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where he established himself as both actor and director. His early stage work, including his celebrated production of True West, drew national attention and led to notable Tony Award nominations for The Grapes of Wrath and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
Sinise made a strong impression in film with his performance as George Milton in Of Mice and Men, a project he also directed and produced.
