Hugrún Björnsdóttir was born in 1988 and is an Icelandic author. She has been a book lover from a young age, and in 2020 she decided to sit down and write her first novel. Her dream became a reality in 2024 when her first book, Rót alls ills (The Root of All Evil), was published by Storytel Original. The book went straight to the top of Storytel’s bestseller list and marked the beginning of the series about forensic psychologist Kamilla Brim.

The second book in the series, Uns dauðinn aðskilur okkur (Til' Death Do Us Part), was published in 2025. Like its predecessor, the book reached the top of the bestseller list and was also the most popular thriller on Storytel in 2025. The third book in the series is expected to be released in the summer of 2026.
