Shawna has had a love for art and drawing ever since her early childhood. Even at an early age she would draw her own stories for hours. She was highly influenced by her mom reading to her and taking her to the library. At the library, she always would go to the fairy tale section and find her favorite fairy tales, then try to copy the illustrations in the books.

Shawna went into art in college, and in 2004 graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration from Brigham Young University. A year later in 2005, she began her career as a freelance illustrator and has been illustrating and loving it ever since.

Since then, Shawna has created artwork for many children's books along with children's magazines, educational and religious materials and theater playbills.

Shawna currently lives in the beautiful state of Utah with her two very artistic little girls and graphic designer husband and enjoys creating art every day.
