Caryn Shender is a proud mom whose daughter was born with a rare congenital heart defect (called ALCAPA) that inspired her debut children's book, My Scar is Beautiful. Caryn personally understands the emotional impact a scar can have and hopes this book serves as a positive resource for anyone with a beautiful scar. As a first-time mom, she found her purpose in life, both personally and professionally as an author and certified sleep training consultant. She's always dreamed of helping others and making a difference has always been a driving force for her. She lives with her husband, daughter, dog and cat, all of whom give her inspiration and joy.
