Mari Sang is an Ecuadorian author born in 1984, passionate about storytelling, languages, and culture. Fluent in four languages, she loves writing and reading romance, enjoying Ecuadorian cuisine, and connecting with nature. Since 2014, she has made Brazil her home, where she continues to pursue her dream of writing.
Her literary journey began with Gertrudis, her debut story published on February 28, 2021, in four languages: Spanish, Portuguese, English, and French. She later released her first novel, Greta y el Último Viaje en el Tiempo, in June 2021—a book that became a bestseller in Spain and remains in the Top 100 Young Adult Fiction – Nature and Natural World category.
Her poetry collection, Reminiscencias. Poemas y Canciones de Cuna, holds a special place in her heart as it was written in collaboration with her father. Mari has also authored children’s books, including Genoveva, una Super-Heroína (in Portuguese and Spanish), and contributed to bilingual anthologies such as Una Navidad para Compartir / Um Natal para Compartilhar and Cuentos de Navidad / Contos de Natal, created alongside her daughter, Amelie Victoria.
Her latest release, A Kilómetros de Distancia, explores themes of love and separation, continuing her tradition of heartfelt storytelling.
