The manuscript for this novel was found at the side of Jonathan Mitchell. The final page remained curled in an old black Royal typewriter, with a small spatter of blood on the roller. The blood had dried, as did the ink and the ribbon was at its end. His life too, came to an end with his final written words. When his beloved Hanna vanished, he became a man that was haunted by her memory. A man that questioned his purpose in life and meaning to her. He sought comfort in writing, trying to find reason with words. He hoped to find solace in the pages as they unfolded, and to quiet the unexplained whispers that came to him. In his effort, he soon came to question fiction from reality, and had either found insanity or truth. Perhaps he had fallen into madness and schizophrenia, or maybe the voices he heard were real. The reader will have to decide. Is this a diary of his life or merely a work of fiction? No one had yet discovered how or why she vanished, and it became his obsession to find her.
