The manuscript for this novel was found at the side of Jonathan Mitchell. The final page remained curled in an old black Royal typewriter, with a small spatter of blood on the roller. The blood had dried, as did the ink and the ribbon was at its end. His life too, came to an end with his final written words. When his beloved Hanna vanished, he became a man that was haunted by her memory. A man that questioned his purpose in life and meaning to her. He sought comfort in writing, trying to find reason with words. He hoped to find solace in the pages as they unfolded, and to quiet the unexplained whispers that came to him.
