Recently widowed, Adèle Bélanger is determined to indulge in the pleasures of Parisian society,
despite her family's disapproval. Even the German boots marching down the Champs-Elysées
cannot keep her from the gaiety of the lavish soirees and decadent restaurants. In contrast, her
twin sister Sophie, a third-year medical student, works tirelessly at the hospital. Sophie has no
news of her fiancé who had been on the front lines. She has no tolerance for a sister who consorts
with the German occupiers.
When their younger brother becomes involved in the resistance, the two sisters’ lives are
