Sarah and Sandy, two girls who grew up together in the big city, set out to spend a month at a cabin in the woods owned by an old family friend they call “Aunt Judith”. They quickly learn that Aunt Judith and her friends have a much different outlook on life than they do.

When the laughter died down, she looked back at me and said “Well, go on and kiss her then. I want to know if she is a good kisser.”

I made a face like I just couldn’t do that, but I turned to look at Sandy, and she was smiling. She leaned in just a little bit closer to me and gave me a slight nod of her head. I was so conflicted. This was so crazy, something we could never take back, and a step in our friendship that I didn’t think we should be taking, but at the same time, I looked at her soft face and her full, red lips and I realized, at that very moment, that I did want to kiss her.

I didn’t necessarily want to kiss her right here in front of these other people, and not just because some crazy old lady told me to, but I did want to. I really did. Then I heard Aunt Judith say “My god girl, it’s just a simple kiss. Don’t make such a fuss about it. Just kiss her already.”

With that final bit of prodding, I leaned in and gently touched my lips to hers. I saw her close her eyes, and I felt an electric tingle go down my spine as our lips touched lightly. It shocked me, and I gave her a simple, gentle kiss and then leaned back, feeling a bit flushed and confused.

Aunt Judith and the Stevens’ laughed a little bit, and Mr. Stevens said: “Well, how was it?”

I felt hot and uncomfortable and nervous, and somehow just said “nice”

Aunt Judith said “Just nice? That’s all?”

Then Mrs. Stevens said “She only said it was nice because she barely kissed her. I’m not sure I’d even call that a kiss.” Then after a pause, she said “Look at her, she’s absolutely gorgeous with those big blue eyes and that long, dark hair, and those big red lips. If I was her best friend, I’d be making out with her every chance I got.” All five of us laughed a little and then she poked me on the arm and said “Go ahead now, give her a real kiss. Enjoy yourselves and see what she really feels and tastes like.”
