Rebecca can barely remember her mother, she disappeared so long ago. But all her life she’s wanted to find out what really happened. Now she has a reason, a very pressing reason. If she doesn’t find her, she will lose her beloved family estate. So she takes a job in Baltimore, the city where Rebecca, her mother and father had last been together. As synchronicity would have it, the very apartment is for rent they had occupied long ago in the old townhouse. So she takes it, and the same couple, old now, still owns it and lives downstairs. Rebecca begins snooping, and soon learns someone wants desperately to keep the past buried and is willing to bury anyone who tries to dig it up. But Rebecca will not be deterred and embarks on a suspense-filled quest, laced with romance and fast-paced action, as she and a male companion travel to the island of Corsica in their search for Nina Fletcher.
