New case. New town. New reason to sleep with the lights on.

My boss sent me to outback Australia with my teenage daughter to assess an insurance claim at a magical museum… and to keep us safe from the spider weaver that recently escaped prison.

No worries, right?

I’m expecting dusty roads, faulty wards, and maybe a few bogans along the way. Instead, I find temperamental artefacts, secretive centaurs, and a kangaroo that’s decided to adopt us. (Don’t ask.)

But the real problem?

I was simply planning on keeping our distance from the spider weaver until the police caught him.

Turns out, my plan was rubbish. He’s hunting us.

With Altan no longer at my side and my family history looking a lot less human than I thought, I can’t afford to make any mistakes.

Because this time, if I get it wrong, it won’t just cost me my job. I could lose everything.
