At the age of five, Lian made her own little books from scratch paper bound in yarn, and illustrated them using pencils and markers. Her first book, The Little Angel Who Lost Her Wings, was born out of that vision and desire to make her own bedtime stories. When not in school or karate practice, Lian says she likes "imaginating" and creating artwork from junk materials.
