Wind to Water is the first of many novels I hope to write. The themes you can expect from my creations: optimism, freedom, nature, opportunity, love, family, friendship, education, humor, self-determination, travel, adventure, philosophy, music, joy, perspective. I don't plan to write stories within a single genre; however, assure you anything I publish will be entertaining, thoughtful, thought-provoking and unique. Thank you very much for your time and support!

Wind to Water seeps over the edges of standard book categories. It's a contemporary love story, deepened by explorations into real geography and history, splashed with comedy and sprinkled with spirituality. I hope you find joy in its complexity, as well as in its desire not to take itself too seriously.
It offers a glimpse into the love that many people hope one day to savor--a love that encourages them to be themselves. I hope it will be a book that lovers buy for lovers and friends buy for friends. I would be honored if you would share this story with someone you care about.
The inspiration for this novel came, in part, from Richard Bach's The Bridge Across Forever. I enjoyed the content greatly, but Bach's ability to use time travel and out-of-body experiences to nurture love and discover self wasn't something I had achieved or could put into practice.
I decided to try my hand at a love story any man or woman could enjoy and perhaps even learn from. So, during my off-duty hours on one of many military deployments to Southwest Asia, the story began to write itself. It all started with a personal "letter to a soul mate" and a 30-day trip I'd taken to Australia.
The characters are fictional, as is the opening chapter. Many of the places and events, however, are real. I've visited most of the locations mentioned and I also took great care to match the book's time references such as news headlines to actual world events.

As a California native, growing up near magical natural wonders like Lake Tahoe, the coastal redwoods and the Pacific Ocean, I developed an early appreciation for the great outdoors. Since then, my passions for culture, travel has led me to visit 35 countries.
